Annalee Newitz's "Revenge of the Female Nerds: Busting media and industry myths about why women can't be technical" talk at Harvard Law School last week generated a few interesting 'blogher' accounts. Newitz called on female nerds to go forth and propogate memes, and that they did: *Beth's Blog: Beth "liveblogged" the lecture, provides stats and additional links, and has a rockin' comments section. Link. *Deborah E. Finn, who writes Technology for the Nonprofit and Philanthropic Sector, posted a brief account, at one point describing the talk as "wishful thinking." Link. *Newitz recently wrote an AlterNet column about William Bright's nastygram experiences with SF's BART and NYC's MTA due to his digital distribution of copyrighted maps on ipodsubwaymaps.com. Link. UPDATE: harvard.free.culture posted a realmedia stream of the Newitz's talk. Link. URL: Revenge of the Female Nerds
